I would add to brunos that being based in NL has the advantage of getting an FB Amex card which can (somewhat) cheaply get you 2-8 segments. And that can make a difference. If you fly once a month, i.e. 24 segments a year a platinum card gets you to a gold level. Add an extra return flight a year, a gold card will do.
