Their rules state that you can't give it away but I've done this many times and also used others. BoA had a delay with giving me my companion fare this year and I needed to book 2 tickets to Hawaii before fares went up so I used my mom's (and it worked) and will give her my companion fare when it comes through. All you need is the code and you're good to go!
