Wanted to use a SWU to be waitlisted on a LAX-DFW-PEK flight with C0 on the DFW-PEK legs.

I told the agent I wanted to be waitlisted for the DFW-PEK flight yet now I am displaying first (upgraded) on the LAX-DFW leg.

If the DFW-PEK flight doesn't clear, will I be out of 1 SWU? The agent said the SWU won't be deducted until the DFW-PEK flight clears but I thought usually they don't upgrade the domestic leg in advance.

It's been 24 hours and the # of SWU's in my account haven't changed. When are SWU's typically deducted?
