This autoformatting does not work in wikis, however. What one gets instead is a link with the literal URL, not the thread title, as the link text. It would be nice if this worked the same in wikis as in regular posts.

(Can't recall if this bug was reported before or not. I read back to ~May 2015 & did not see it referenced.)
The wiki software does not use VBulletin, which is what autoformats the links for you. If you want the text to read something other than the link URL, you must use wiki markup.
