PETER01, sorry for my rather flippant remark about the reason we to read FT-- maybe better would have been to say to travel "better," however one defines that (as much as possible, or only in premium cabins, or for less money, or whatever). And I am amused by how little attention the BA board seems to give to WT and non-status fliers. But I am very glad this thread exists, because it helped me. I would have been back in row 36 with the seat reclined into my face otherwise...
My flight on BA in WT was actually pretty good, all things considered. I had no complaints about the legroom, obviously. IFE worked, and I watched a couple of movies I wanted to see anyway. The food wasn't bad at all. The crew was lovely: very professional and efficient, and didn't disappear as AA crew is prone to do. There were many beverage runs, free booze, and they were happy to serve me, a lowly WT passenger, more when I asked outside of the regular services. And all the BA staff I encountered on the ground at T5 were delightful, from the women at bag drop to the lounge staff. Briefly put: BA's economy service is really very good, even on a flight that was rammed to the gills.
All that said, I don't actually want to fly WT again. I'm currently at the point where I'll take fewer trips, but have them be more comfortable all around (that works for me, time and financially right now.) But I know other people have different priorities. And for those people (and not to totally derail this thread): the WT exit row on BA is nice. Sit there!
