This subject has been beaten to death forever.

To be quite honest, everything on the plane in theory can cause the cockpit instruments to go haywire.

Yes, cellular phones and equipment in theory can be powerful transmitters, but at the same time I feel that the shielding that is in place for such instruments in the cockpit a little lacking.

Bottom line? No cellphones = $$$ for airlines because if you REALLY need to make a phone call, yer gonna pay $10/minute. Thats the single biggest reason why cellphones will continue to be banned.
