I had to book a couple of tickets to Chandigarh and back from Mumbai. While the to journey was booked with JP Miles did not get the return tickets as none were available, hence booked with GO Air on Yatra.

However closer to the travel date did manage to book tickets with JP Miles. Hence decided to cancel the return leg tickets.

It was a surprise when the cancellation charges did not match with the OTA declared charges. On calling OTA I was surprised to learn that the OTA had booked prices on the airline at lower rates hence the cancellation charges did not reflect the prices I had paid. The cancellation charges were correct but the ticket booked prices reflected a lower amount.

I had to explain the situation to the call center of the OTA and only then they figured out and refunded me the difference.

I have posted this to warn fellow travelers to check the refund amount before closing the said transaction.

I was also curious, do OTA's book inventory and then sell at higher rates closer to the travel date? Looks like the business models have changed a bit.
