The last time I did the AM 777 was around June/July last year to MAD. The hard product as you have mentioned is dated and can get quite uncomfortable if you plan on sleeping. They have however improved on the service and meals across the board. No IFE but in J you will be given an ipad. However, if you plan on watching movies you will ens up holding them in your hands and the battery doesn't last the duration of the flight.
