Reporting back as promised. I'm quite pleased with the Condes de Barcelona. The standard rooms are typical european size, but are niced appointed with hardwood floors, marble bathroom, minibar (with reasonable prices), and high-speed internet. The location is good - at the corner of Passeig de Gracia and Mallorca - about a 10 minute walk to Placa Catalunya. The hotel is actually two different building across the street from each other. I'd highly recommend requesting the north building, which has a rooftop garden and pool, as well as a lobby bar. I'm in the south building and its mildly annoying to have to walk across the street to use any of the hotel's facilities.
