I had heard so much about Prague taxis, that I walked from the train station to my hotel so as to not have to deal with it. The only cab I took was from the hotel to the airport. However, the cost for the hotel car was about what the "rip-off" rate was listed in one of my guides, so I didn't really gain anything other than peace-of-mind!

AAA is still in the currrent edition of several of my travel guides as the honest taxi service of choice.

Sorry that it's not first-hand... have a good trip. I hope to make it back before the switch to the Euro!
