Welcome to FlyerTalk.

I assume this was AA. I've never heard of a one drink at a time rule - but then I'm usually up front. In J and F I have had AA FAs give me doubles without asking; they usually comment that I look like I like to drink and they didn't want me to run out in 5 minutes.
