I would definitely agree with this comment. Have misconnected several times flying from hkg to meet a flight in PVG in the last year or so , and have had delays on flights between pvg and hkg. OTOH, we were put on alternate flights back to the US by AA when we misconnested...eg, flight was originally pvg to ord, we're put on pvg to lax. We are flying from pvg to hkg and then on to syd next week and decided to spend the day in hkg to ensure meeting the flight.. really it's a nice stopover in hkg instead of trying to figure out how much of a layover at the airport we needed and ending up with too tight a connection or too much airport time.

In other words, lots of traffic between pvg and hkg, and hard to tell how much time is needed.
