I'm thinking of taking advantage of the current sale on ba.com to book a wee trip for Mrs Kered & myself to LAX for later in the year, so I need to make some decisions pretty darn fast before the sale ends on Tuesday.

I'm very tempted to book on the AA operated flights, to try out their new business class rather than blindly flying CW again. So, my question is, if I do book the TATL flights on AA metal (BA codeshare), can I pre-assign our seats for free on ba.com at the time of booking, or will I need to pay the pre-assignment fee, that would apply if I booked on a BA operated flight ?

Also, if I choose BA metal for our DUB-LHR feeder flights will they still book into J class as they would do if our entire itinerary was on BA metal ?
