EVA's Deluxe Economy is DEFINITELY worth the relatively low "upgrade" cost. I've traveled LAX to Bali twice on EVA and the extra room at each seat is worth every cent of the additional cost, especially on the very long LAX-TPE-LAX segments. Also, EVA has one of (if not the) best safety records of any Asian carrier. Miles earned on EVA flites can be credited to a CO One Pass account.
