Could be a 2-3 meal flight. A few years ago flying YVR-PVG-YVR in BC, they served lunch (or was it "dinner") shortly after TO from YVR, breakfast midway and a snack before landing in PVG in the early evening (or late afternoon). All were substantial. On the way home, it was again lunch (or dinner) leaving PVG and breakfast before arrival in YVR. May have been a mid-flight snack. I did a trip report for it.
