I was flying home yesterday and fully believe that Delta has gone too far. I agree that the frontline folks more than make up for the Skymiles program. But yesterday, awaiting flight home during a 3 hour delay, I went to the gate to change seats as the app kept crashing on my phone. The agent informed me that platinums and diamonds no longer get free comfort + and refused to move my seat. Tried explaining that these changes take place in May, but she pulled an internal memo that they are to start charging now. I didn't get to read the whole memo as she only held it out for a few seconds, but long story short delta continues to take and take and take. I think that the tipping point has been reached, at least for me. Burning the remaining 800k miles I have left this year and walking.
