45 minutes time between flights if your arrival flight is on time. Hopefully it is. But what if it's 50 minutes late?

Why separate record locators? American and Iberia are partners in the oneworld alliance. Can't you get them to "link" the record locators so that American is aware that you're arriving on the Iberia flight, and Iberia is aware that your'e continuing on the American flight, so that in case of a delay they'll hopefully handle it for you instead of you being totally out on your own.

And I presume you're travelling with carry-on (cabin) baggage only?
