Also consider that most of both of the flights are "night time", so viewing will be minimal, other than arrival and take off from SYD and potentially arrival at LAX

I've been trying to figure out how much daylight we would actually be flying in. We leave at 11 am and arrive in Los Angeles at 7:50 am. So when we leave it will be 4 pm L.A. time. And we'll be flying against the sun versus the same direction the sun is heading. Very interesting.
