Take them, I have the AA281 MIA - DFW and almost the date 2/26. When i went online with my AA account (no status) i was not able to pick them, but when i put my OW Emerald i was able to take them, also my wife was able to pick them on Sapphire....... i will guess that any kind of status will let you choose them
