Made Real Bali Tours
We originally booked a tour with Wayan after reading so many recommendations. A day or two before our visit he had to cancel so that he could focus on his new bed and breakfast. He had his friend Made fill in. He let us know that Made has done tours for some time and he worked side by side with him. During our time in Bali we used Made (pronounced Maddie) for two airport transfers, two day tours (10-11 hours each), and a ride from one of the port cities to Ubud. We had such a fantastic time with him that we have told several friends to use him while in Bali. We've now had 3 different couples use him and they've all reported back they had a great time.
Made just makes things a total breeze. I'm the type who spends hours planning out my trip and for Bali it was great to have someone take you everywhere and to know the perfect places to go in order to make your time in Bali memorable. You will need to contact him to get pricing but in 2014 I recall we had a 10 and an 11 hour tour that ran around $60 for everything. I believe the airport transfer was between $20-30 to Seminyak.
Our day tours were in South Kuta and Ubud. Though if you have more days our friend went on to stay in his village and tour the north part of the island. Made knows the best beaches, temples, and some pretty amazing places to get lunch. The best part is that he is extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture. You aren't just hiring someone to drop you off. He is going to show you the real "Bali". He even had some of the traditional outfits to wear at some of the temples and will help you do an offering. He is also EXTREMELY hilarious. You really have fun the whole time you are with him. Every few months after our visit he would even write us and ask how we were doing. He really made out time in Bali special. We'd love to go back again and explore the north part of the island now!
