Wow, lots of great suggestions, checked some of the stores out this afternoon, except for Evex which seems to be closed today. The Briggs and Riley carryons are pretty nice stuff, especially their expandable cases. I snagged the last Samsonite Sidewinder carry-on for half price at the local Sears store, though I'm keeping the tags on in case Evex has something better for a decent price.

So the Mississauga Evex location is closed? I need to bring my Targus Air leather computer case/briefcase in to get a zipper fixed. I have not been able to find anything that comes close to it for practicality and size, so I'd rather fix it than to hunt down a new one. You can squeeze two laptops in this case!!!

So where is a good place in Asia to find excellent quality, even name brand luggage cheaper than here? I have a lot of travel in Asia this year, going to Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia in two weeks. Hence the need for a full sized carryon to squeeze everything into. I just don't want to go through the hassle of lost checked baggage on trips with tight schedules.

It seems that 22" carryons are pretty rare, whereas most are 19 or 20 inches. I guess some people have had problems with 22 inch cases being just a bit too long, despite it fitting the limits of some airlines' policies. Anyone here have any experiences with Star Alliance carriers and carryon size limitations?
