IIRC, this is correct. At least it was back in November 2015.
I typically do opt to split when I'm flying with
mrs. iapetus and the
iapetuses jr. If I do get upgraded, I give my seat to
mrs. iapetus and remain in E+ with the kids. This does, however, mean that I have to be very strategic when selecting seats for everyone. The funny thing, though, is that I swear I seem to get upgraded much more often when I travel with my family.
This, of course, gives
mrs. iapetus the idea that I get upgraded all the time.
