I find the Andaz 5th Avenue to be welcoming, warm and hip. I have never had a service issue at the Andaz 5th Ave. I think Hyatt missed the bar when they designed the Park Hyatt NYC, I'm a fan of the brand but the NYC property lobby appears to be cold, the bar and restaurant also feel closed in. I've walked by several times and gone up to the bar, I see no reason to stay for a drink, but I could hang out all night at the Bar Downstairs at the Andaz.
I'm a huge hotel junkie and have done tours of many properties in NYC, I find the Park Hyatt lobby to be one of the worst. The Park Hyatt NYC Lobby sort of reminds me of the Neiman Marcus near my office, luxurious, but cold with no personality.
I love this post and so spot on overall!
But with the right people they might be approachable despite the formality.People always make the difference
