I misspelled my second surname (yeah, Spaniards have two surnames) on a Iberia MAD-JFK flight flying on AA metal.
I couldn't do the auto checking on the computer because the name wouldn't match with the passport, I asked for assistance and explained the issue.
The AA lady manually approved the validation and I got the tickets. Apart from that, no issue with the TSA.

Had to do the same on the return flight.
