At LAX, do NOT use the Texaco on Westbound Century at Osage (5551 W. Centruy Blvd., just before the Rail Overpass and the "Totally Nude Nude Nudes" stripjoint)
That station is the last one you pass on your way from I-405 to the Airport and charges at least 50 cents more per gallon than any other station in the area.

I used to fill up there on my way in (on the EAST side of the overpass) but too often there is someone waiting around there with a sob story about needing $10 so they can get enough gas to get home ("I got rolled in Mexico" or somesuch). Thanks for the info about W. Manchester Ave.
For SJC, if you're coming South on 101 there's a Shell station at the Bowers Ave exit (if you go the other way this exit is Great America Blvd). I stay at the embassy Suites right nearby; the Shell station is not really more or less expensive than other ones in the area and it's convenient if you're coming down 101.
