I always have this problem returning at FLL. What's the nearest gas station coming from 95 S?</font>
I live about two miles from the area, so:

Coming down I-95 south, after you pass the Broward Broward exit, you will see the exit for I-595-Airport. Do *NOT* take this option. Continue on I-95 one more exit, to State Route 84. Exit and turn left (east)at the traffic signal (it is an elevated ramp).

The ramp will return to "street level" and there begins the lineup of gas stations. At the corenr of SR 84 and SW 15th Ave is Texaco and an independent on the left side, while 7-11 Citgo and Marathon are on the right. A half block beyond the Marathon is an independent Raceway which is usually pretty cheap.

Further at the corner of SW 9th is a Shell, and the next traffic light (SW 4th Ave.) is where I often buy my gas, an Amoco with good prices. Most of these are 24-hour operartions.

Once you have gassed up, continue east on SR 84 to US 1 (South Federal Highway) - this corner has a huge new Mercedes dealership on the right side. Turn right, and Alamo is one short block on your right. Continue down US1 a bit and you're at the airport entrance.

Edited to add:

This option works well for I-95 Northbound as well. IIRC the signs say SR 84 - Marina Mile be sure to turn *RIGHT* at the end of the ramp, as you have the option to turn either left or right.
