My two entries into dgolds' list
LAX: Turn right when you get off for the airport -- skip the Arco rip-off station (no credit cards!) and go down a few blocks to any of the much less crowded and convenient places.

At LAX, do NOT use the Texaco on Westbound Century at Osage (5551 W. Centruy Blvd., just before the Rail Overpass and the "Totally Nude Nude Nudes" stripjoint)
That station is the last one you pass on your way from I-405 to the Airport and charges at least 50 cents more per gallon than any other station in the area.
There are plenty of stations along W. Manchester Ave (State Route 42, parallel to Century but about 1 mile north of it) or even across the street on Eastbound Century by the Thrifty location to serve you at a fair(er) price.
