Yes well I have been using DUB for over two decades and seen lots of changes and there are some lost opportunities with regards setting up a CTA channel in both Terminals. The new E gates have eased the situation in T1 a bit but when the lines are back to the bottom of the escalators you are stuck in that line until the very end where you can then opt to use the E Gates the sad thing is many times I am there they are not being used that much.
The situation has got to a stage where I would gladly pay an annual fee to use a special Fast Track E gate system as I am travelling through DUB so much.
As for the LGW situation and having a short walk from the bus to the baggage hall it is nothing compared to the walk from every flight that leaves/arrives at the D Pier at DUB to board/disembark the aircraft in torrential rain, high winds and freezing cold weather. Lucky I dont have to use it that often but the last time passengers were getting drenched. Im not sure which bright spark thought that with the Irish weather it was smart to not have air bridges. FR use them at other airports so that excuse is not there. Often airlines like SAS,German Wings,Iberia are also dumped there and their passengers have the same experience.
