Interesting comment about not checking boarding passes since you could not be in that area unless you had a flight to get there.

For many years at Memphis,the would check your boarding pass similar to how they do it now. Then 15 foot later in the secure area, they would check it again. I always wanted to point out to them the foolishness of that since there was no way to get to the 2nd check unless you went through the first.

Eventually, someone with half a brain realized it and they stopped doing that. I assume some other airports had that as well.
