If you are domestic and want to exit a F thats no problem there is a hall way next to international security you can walk down that will dump you at the arrivals area its on the mid area between the gates and the plane train. You could go all the way up to the gates and exit at the departure level as well as mentioned before it only works if you have no checked luggage.
I say you're landside after exiting customs because at that point you must clear TSA security before you can get to the gates.
