The CTA doesn't guarantee free passage, there still is a right to stop and check anyone just like Schengen where checks on trains have been a daily occurrence long before the recent problems.

Its a two way street and I'd much rather take the 2-3 minute passport queue in Dublin over the bus mess in LGW (really really nice when its -4 outside), BHX or the intrusive big brother in LHR
