In a couple of weeks as you may have guessed through a number of threads I have started here I am travelling to Washington DC.

I fly in on Friday afternoon and leave late the following Tuesday evening.

I am hoping to visit the White House:

-is it open at the moment?
-what is the best day to visit to avoid queues?
-I have heard to avoid queues to get there at 6am, is that right?
-any other tips?
