I'm willing to give it a try. I have the RPG card with fee waiver a month ago. I might as well give it a try and see what happens. I wonder if I book the best room that is not a suite if I will get upgraded to a suite.

Also curious if I can get 2 separate rooms and get the $75 credit on both rooms.
The Virtuoso page for Aria lists what the "next category upgrade" is for Virtuoso, it is likely to be the same for Gold Hotels. Note that some of the higher room categories are not eligible for further upgrade. http://www.virtuoso.com/hotels/61645...-resort-casino (Under hotel info/guest rooms)

As for whether the rate is going to be the same, the FHR/Virtuoso rate, and likely also the Gold Hotels rate, is generally the same as the flexible/cancellable rate the hotel is offering -- and in Vegas sometimes the FHR rate is even a bit less than the hotel's flexible rate. But lots of hotels offer cheaper nonrefundable rates which may be cheaper than the FHR/Virtuoso/Gold Hotels rate, sometimes by a lot. And in Vegas it is common to find the hotels advertising various promotions that include a resort credit or buffet passes or various other perks, or even just a discount for signing up for their email list or players club, and those packages also might offer a better overall value than Gold Hotels. So it's at least worth looking at your options.
