IME PDX is the easiest route for BE/D1 award space and instrument supported upgrades.
LAX-HND is also easy, but transferring between HND and NRT is a pain unless you want to spend some hours in Tokyo and can figure out what to do with all of your luggage while you're exploring.
Thanks for the insight.. LAX-HND would normally be fine as I can travel for 3 weeks in Asia using a carryon.. but since we'll have a Wedding dress and who knows how many pairs of shoes in tow, I'm not sure jumping airports is an option. It's actually why I'm probably going to car service to DTW vs out of my home airport of LAN. Don't want to be cramming a wedding dress in the overhead of a CRJ.
