Hi All,

Planning a trip in April/May to Thailand, 2 weeks, Saturday to Saturday. Will be flying out of DTW and looking for the best routing that may allow for me to use my GUCs for the long hauls. There will be two of us. Final destination is Phuket, where we may jump around on inter-country airlines.

I obviously could go DTW-NRT-BKK and then hop down from there on Thai Air or one of the other low cost carriers. Just seems like from my experience a few years ago when I would do APAC 3-4 times a year in business that DTW-NRT route is usually full of paid folks.

I could possibly do DTW-ICN-KUL and then hop down from there. Not sure what that route looks like any more since it's been a good 5 years since I've done it.

Just curious if anyone has some recommendations before calling the DM line. I know the GUC crystal ball is about as clear as mud.. just looking for experiences without digging through the massive thread.
