Then you turn on the CoCs. Singapore CAAS allows Scoot to get away with "no refunds in case of our cancellation" (vouchers for a future booking only). And you can't chargeback Scoot if the CoCs say that (even if you're an American booking from America, your journey doesn't start in the U.S....)
Yeah, different countries undoubtedly have different rules to protect consumers (or airlines) against cancellation/delay. But if you book with the credit card that gives you protection, you really dont have to deal with vouchers or what not... I have a card that covers $500 of expenses if my flight/luggage gets delayed 3 hrs/cancelled (or more if it gets lost). I think this would be pretty handy when it comes to flying with LCC's.
