Went inside to the gold desk and asked for a refund for the gas, a reasonable request I thought given the hat dance I had in even getting a car. Nasty clerk told me I shouldn't have taken the car with less than a full car, and didn't care about the issues in getting a car. She shoves my rental agreement back at me and with a sneer told me she wasn't going to do anything for me. Afraid I became on of the nasty PCs at that point and told her to kiss my rear end. Not nice I know, but she was in no mood for an apology either.

At that point she leaped from behind her desk (no easy feat due to her size) and demanded I give her my PC number so she could blackball me in the Hertz system. Told her that wasn't likely to happen, so she follows me out to the bus, tells the driver to turn the bus off and orders all the other passengers off.

I got off the bus while she continued to scream, walked out the gate, over to Enterprise, got on their bus and went to the terminal. Could hear her screaming till I was about 200 feet away. And so far I haven't been blackballed, so apparently so never figured out who I was. Guess I was the classic GWIA (guess who I am) passenger.
Lol! Similar happened to me at DEN over the summer... didn't like what I was assigned so asked for something else, no car x2, third car was not an Impala -- it was a ML350! Unfortunately, about 80 miles out I learned it was a ML350 with run-flat tires and huge bolt in one of the tires. Told Hertz roadside I could drive it back but if the wheel fell off, they better not put the blame on me, so they got me a flatbed. When I got back, got some attitude from the people in the lobby (main lobby, not even Gold area at this point). Finally got another car after about an hour... it was the Impala I had asked for since the beginning

A couple of weeks later I got a day's worth of points, as well as a CC statement credit for the cost of the tire repair kit.
