If he is traveling that much on UA, absolutely the Club card is a great thing to have. Not only for the miles, premier access, luggage benefit, but use of the club. Traveling that much, it is nice to have a lounge to relax in, get some drinks and snacks. I never sit at the gate. I leave the lounge right before boarding time and go straight to the line.
