Just an anecdote: I was on the phone with Amex a few days ago and asked about the policy just to get some info and the person on the phone actually said that it was a huge surprise to them as well. He thought it was one of their biggest selling points of the card and that it would never end. They literally found out it was discontinued the day AFTER the chane already happened.
Were you calling about the Gold rewards card(personal) ?
Me-thinks that some folk here and on other message boards think that Amex is discontinuing the referral program......for ALL their cards.
I suspect not. Probably just limiting referrals to and from specific products.
