Not really. They're certainly far less common these days, but you still come across the odd one.
I can't recall the NI banks ever issuing £1 notes.
It's interesting to hear that they are still issued/in circulation within the UK.
I remember the Northern Bank issued a plastic £5 note a few years ago and I'm sure that raised a few eyebrows..
