PS I am a Silver Exec club member and very regular traveler with BA but they simply dont care...
Frustrating, but what BA has told you is correct.

Also when it comes to missing/lost baggage being a Silver is neither here nor there. Hundreds of bags are missing at any given point in time and realistically no-one is going to rummage around for a specific bag. Practically speaking all you can do in such circumstances is put details on World Tracer and await delivery.

If dealing with Iberia is a pain then an alternative is to call your travel insurer and they will deal with the airline.
