Ops issue at SFO back on January 11. Mid-evening. Apparently their car wash was broken, or that was the story at least.
Names not appearing on the big board, so line at the Gold Shack was out the door and around the corner. Five terminals, 2 employees.

Thankfully, I was near the front 10th instead of 50 back in line. This location had upgraded me to really nice cars in the past, so I wasn't all that predisposed to getting bent out of shape.
My car class is always intermediate so usually I have at least a chance for full or nicer. I finally got my turn and was told I'd been assigned a Yaris. Now I didn't know what a Yaris was, but I do now.

Anyway, how bad could it be? So I headed for the car.
This thing was the most basic, compact, unremarkable thing that could ironically be called a car. The radio had buttons and generally made noise and the car apparently had an engine, so I figured worse things could happen and prepared to drive off. "Welcome to Presidents Circle!", I said to myself.
Then I looked down and saw it... the manual door crank. WTH?
How is this still a thing? Presidents Circle?! Which president? Apparently Ford or Carter judging by the installed options. I turned around, headed back to the shack and did battle. Drove out in a Santa Fe.
I arrived at the exit booths and was gratified to see that they had three lanes open to handle the single car making it through every five minutes.
Was I being a jerk? Maybe. Did I end up driving around for a week in a Yaris with manual door cranks? No.
