Thought others would want to know this. Tried to get some bonus for United Club Card, but no dice. So I wrote them and asked how long I had to cancel and still get the annual fee refunded. The answer was an incredible 180 days -- 6 months. Wow. Were others aware of this? Here is the response:

That means I wait awhile and try again for some sort of retention bonus and if nothing adequate, cancel after 179 days while retaining my United Club Access at no charge....
