One thing is for sure. OP's wife learned of this sometime on Friday. It is now Saturday. OP has until sometime tomorrow to notify Chase. I would not push the 48 hours and I would document that I had met the 48 hours very carefully. If OP misses that deadline, the rest won't matter at all.
