He optimized price and did not even look at the routing. A travel agent would have caught that.
On top of that, a quick search showed a better connection OMA-DTW-TOL for about $30 less with NW.
He booked his flight via expedia yesterday at 4pm. Do you guys think there is any way for him to get the ticket changed with no fees?
