Lisbon Suburban Tickets
You need to have a sete colinas/viva viagem card to buy a ticket. If you don't have one, you'll need to pay 0.5€ when you first buy your ticket.
One card per person. A card can hold one type of ticket.

YOU NEED TO HAVE A VALID TICKET PRIOR TO BOARDING. THAT MEANS VALIDATING IT ON THE READER OR PASSING THROUGH FARE GATES AT THE ORIGIN

There are three options:
1. Regular Ticket (valid for 3 hours in one direction)
2. Zapping - eWallet. You charge the card with money, and it withdraws the money, depending on the service as you use it.
This is valid on:
- Carris buses/trams/elevators (free transfers within 60 min),
- metro (1 ride),
- ferries,
- CP suburban trains (within the Lisbon area, valid for 3 hours, unlimited entrances and exits)

Zapping purchased from one operator can be refilled and used on other operators.

3. Tourist ticket
-1 or 3-day version. See above for prices. May be purchased

Buying your ticket

You can buy your ticket from a CP machine or a counter.

If you don't have a card:
a. Find a green CP machine.
b. Select your destination.
c. Select the number of tickets you want to put ON THIS CARD (e.g. for round-trip select 2 tickets).
d. Inteiro = full price; desconto = discount;
e. Save the receipt in case something happens to the card. Don't bend the card.
f. Touch in and touch out at the fare gates.

If you have a card:
a. put the card on the reader.
b. You'll be offered to add more of the same tickets to your card.
c. If your ticket expired you may be able to switch to another type of ticket. If the machine doesn't let you, you'll need to visit a counter.
d. Once you select what you want, it's same procedure as above
