The reusable $15 car seat bags are decent quality. I bought one last year from the Southwest ticket counter in ATL before my son was born. He's now 1 year old and we've flown with the car seat bag 6 times - it is still in good shape.
We use these for our kids. It makes getting through the airport EXTREMELY easy. Then we just gate check it. Having these attached to the car seats also lets us leave the stroller at home.
Highly recommend. Ran it over with the car accidentally, still works like a charm.
