i met this wonderful woman i fell in love with. decided to quit my job and leave my entire life behind except for clothing, a razor, my beloved video game system, and my zippo. (never know when you will need one even when you don't smoke) she has this beautiful place in the Swiss alps very far from the chaos im used to living in here in Louisiana USA. i mean... what a dream right? beautiful woman your in love with in one of the most beautiful places you've ever seen? asking you to come live with her? me, being the risk taker/ adventurer i have decided to give this a go. i have only flown once in my entire life. dont know jack about it. i know ill need my passport. then a visa after 3 months once i get there. i understand they will be asking about a return flight but i think i have that covered with a cheap ticket from basel Switzerland to London through easyjet. so basically i need to fly out of new Orleans or Houston. i need to fly to pretty much anywhere near bern Switzerland. the options are wide for me. too wide. ive been looking at travel sites for 2 months now and i cant make sense out of the prices between places or to book direct through an airline with separate tickets. i can fly into Milan, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Geneva, Paris. anywhere within around 6 hours of Bern to get picked up. so i went to this site one of you guys mentioned "momondo.com". found a flight for around 340$ to get to Milan Italy. checked how much it would be to get to Basel which is the closest airport i think to her and its around 52$. this price is awesome seeing as i am pretty broke after not working for a few months and paying off debts. was waiting around for my job to start back up and i just said, "you know what? f that". being an aircraft technician can be pretty stressful. so my main point to this is.... is this site legit? can i really get that good of a deal after all the disappointing prices Ive seen. can i get a better deal? if so where and how? i mean... jacovik from one site sent me an email saying the best he could do me was 760$ at first until i told him i had found something cheaper. he replied back saying he would go lower and most everything is a scam out there. would this be my best option? the route i may be able to take if that price stays the same or if its even legit? 340 something bucks to Milan then 52 bucks to Basel? if anyone can give me a hand or advice here i will make sure to keep you guys updated on the new life and how i am fitting in. i am told her father makes great schnapps. also that he will let me drive his riding lawnmower while drinking it. that ought to make me feel a little more back at home if you get me. yes, i will take some photos. i'll spice things up around there and maybe throw a craw-fish boil and make cook some gumbo. who knows... maybe open my own little shop and show these people what real food is. they are all pretty loaded so plenty of money to be made in Switzerland. you can work at mcdonalds and get nearly 30 bucks an hour. maybe ill do what is done to Americans. move into the country to work and send money home. only bad thing is the cost there. i see many days of ramen noodles. ill be fine with that while they walk around eating 10$ apples talking about yoga class. so, thanks for listening and for any advice you can offer. not love advice please. if things dont work out with me and her i will just fell some trees and build a hut. set some traps. you know... tough it out. prevail. this will be a new journey of my life and i plan to make the most of of it.
