I have this quite a lot. I was speaking to a colleague who was planning a trip to Sri Lanka in the spring. The economy flights he wanted were something like £700 (indirect, starting in London), and there were flights for something like £1k with QR in business ex-Dublin which were no less convenient for him as he's not based in London anyway. It's also worth mentioning that he as about 50k avios that, incredibly, are due to expire in 6 months so crediting the QR flight to BAEC would have been worth quite a lot in saved avios too.

He simply couldn't bring himself to book the QR flights even though we would happily pay the little extra for biz class, as he just didn't believe that it should be that cheap - he did not believe that it was a valid fare and that there was a catch somewhere. Anyway, he's going in economy.
