The late great writer Erma Bombeck - master of detailing suburban life - "The Grass is Always Greener Over the Septic Tank" etc... was once asked this very question and replied that she and her husband always flew together as neither wanted to be the surviving parent raising four kids, two guppies, one dog, and a parrot all alone.
